I'm currently available for private trumpet instruction to students of all ages and ability levels. I offer remote lessons online and in-person lessons in Santa Barbara/Southern California. 

I bring a unique breadth of experience to my teaching practice, having worked across many musical genres and disciplines, on stages ranging from the most intimate clubs to the biggest halls and festivals across multiple continents. I've also had the good fortune of studying with some masters of the craft, and much of the way I teach is distilled from the deep musical knowledge and wisdom offered to me by my mentors. This enables me to approach my students’ needs and musical interests with more flexibility, creativity and empathy.

While I stress the importance of fostering good technique, with a grounding in traditional brass methods and music theory, I also encourage students to open their ears and minds, to explore sonic and stylistic possibilities and cultivate their own musical personalities. My goal is to develop students into well rounded trumpet players and whole musicians with a modern, versatile skill set.

I am also available to lead clinics, brass sectionals or beginning/advanced improvisation in group or classroom settings.
